Oxfordshire

A call to action

Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group is calling on local people, NHS staff, politicians and community and voluntary organisations to have an open and honest debate about the future shape of the NHS in Oxfordshire.  In order to meet rising demand, introduce new technology and meet the expectations of our patients, we need to change.

To support this in Oxfordshire, the clinical commissioning group has decided to change how it commissions (buys) some health and social care services by introducing a more outcomes orientated approach to commissioning and contracting.  Development of this work has now started for mental health, maternity and older people’s services.

Through public consultation we have asked the public to tell us what outcomes matter most to them.   To find out more about Outcomes Based Commissioning and to have your say please visit  Talking health.

The clinical commissioning group is now developing its 5 year Strategy which will incorporate Outcomes Based Commissioning as the method for how it buys health and social care services, however, as part of the development of the 5 year strategy, we want to ask you:

  • How can we improve the quality of NHS Care in Oxfordshire?
  • How can we meet everyone’s healthcare needs?
  • What must we do to build an excellent local NHS now and for future generations?
  • How can the Oxfordshire clinical commissioning group maintain financial sustainability?

Opportunities to feed into the development of the 5 year strategy are publicised on Talking health.

OCCG wants to ask you if the opportunities identified in our strategy will help to address the challenges in Oxfordshire.  Your views on how you can help us to achieve and maintain financial stability in Oxfordshire, are really important.  To participate in this debate you can:
