Clinical Reference Group final report
Between January and March 2014, the CRG with support from the Thames Valley Health Knowledge Team, considered its future into the medium term. With support from Dr Catherine O’Sullivan, they critically analysed their work since the group’s foundation in 2011. A series of proposals were put forward to the Oxford Academic Health Science Network to continue the excellent work of the clinical network for pathology in the South of England. Sadly, the value of the work was not recognised and therefore no further funding is available for future development. The proposals covered:
- “Implementation of bedside IT to improve patient safety and transfusion practice” by Professor Mike Murphy – AHSN PID – Blood Transfusion
- “Diabetes point of care connectivity” by Gary Tan & Ian Smith – AHSN PID – Glucose Connectivity
- “Laboratory to Laboratory communication” by Brian Shine – AHSN PID – lab to lab communication
- “Point of care testing within the community” by Finlay Love – AHSN PID – POCT within the community
- “Antenatal Screening Link” by Lawrence Impey & Ian Smith – AHSN PID -Antenatal Screening Link
- “Real Time Specimen reporting” by Finlay Love – AHSN PID – real time reporting
